GeneralWhile IAESTE is a world-wide organization making it possible for students to get a traineeship abroad, the local committee makes sure the trainees in the area have a great time during their stay. IAESTEIAESTE (the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) was founded in 1948. The main objective is to make it easier for students in technical educations to get an international traineeship and to increase international understanding between students from different countries. Today IAESTE involves more than 90 countries all over the world. The organization is non-political, independent and non-governmental, but it maintains a consultative relationship with several agencies of the UN and other international organizations. Since the start in 1948 more than 250.000 traineejobs have been exchanged. If you want additional information, please read about IAESTE. The local committeeThe local committee consists of 10 members from different programs at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), meaning 10 different skills and 10 different personalities. Our main object is to make each trainee having a great time here in Sweden during their traineeship. We arrange accommodation and different social activities for our trainees in Stockholm. For example we have pub meetings and we try to have at least one social activity every week. We arange some bigger parties connected to our swedish traditions such as a cray fish party, traditional christmas- and eastern parties and above this our biggest event – Stockholm weekend at the capital city of Sweden. We also go to visit the other local committees in Sweden, for example a snow mobile weekend in Luleå and the midsummer party in Gothenburg. Except all this we are always willing to go somewhere else, to meet new people from all over the world and to share all the fun parts of the student life with all this people. | |||||
